JUNCACEAE          Juncus amabilis

Densely tufted perennial rush spreading from underground stems. Erect greyish-green stems growing to 1.2m in height, with leaves to 22cm dark brown to reddish at the base. Prefers seasonally moist inundated soils, tolerating drying out in summer. Locally known from one dam edge in the Kooyoora State Park – Wehla Block. Flowering season: Nov – Dec.
